About Us

Authentic Mara Expeditions is a safari tour operator based in Nairobi, Kenya, specializing in mountain climbing, scenic and wildlife safaris, and ethno-cultural, religious, and historical diversity. Mara Expeditions is an owner-managed tour company, formed in 2008. Although we have a soft spot for mountaineering and hiking, we offer everything from adventure and camping safaris & luxury lodges, or tented camp tours. Whatever your preference may be, we will bring it right to you in the wilderness.

The patriotic Kenyans who are enthused by what their country and East Africa have to offer and are determined and enthusiastic about sharing and showing the beauty of East Africa to a wider audience in a more exciting and adventurous way than the norm. Our main activities include, but are not limited to, hiking, trekking, mountain climbing, backpacking and camping; wildlife safaris; desert expeditions; ethno-cultural tours; scenic and geographical tours; historical and religious tours; scenic sightseeing; and road trips.

Whether you want to climb Kenya’s highest and Africa’s second-highest mountain – Mt Kenya; visit the world-famous Maasai Mara to see the annual migration; wonder at the herds of elephants in the shadow of Mt Kilimanjaro in Amboseli National Park; spend time relaxing on the beaches on Kenya’s Indian Ocean Coast or take in one or a combination of the many other marvels that East Africa has to offer, Mara Expeditions can provide a tailor-made holiday experience of a lifetime.

Alternatively, you can embark on one of the company’s many standard packages, including 3-day camping packages to all of the national parks and reserves and up to 21-day tours to visit the north, sampling the heritage of our authentic, rich cultural diversity, or a day hike and full climb to experience Mt Kenya.
