3-Days Mt Kenya Express-Climb Sirimon Route

A 3-days Mt Kenya climbing is a marathon trekking and it is done by trekkers who have climbing experience but have no time to stay longer in the mountain.

Crossing the Equator - Mt Kenya

Day 1: Nairobi – Nanyuki – Old Moses camp(Judimier)

After your breakfast depart to Nanyuki passing through the central region the fertile land of Agikuyu to the slopes of mount Mt Kenya, arrive in time for lunch in one of the hotels in Nanyuki as you will be having your lunch we will be shopping for food for the rest of trekking days up in the mountain. Later proceed to Sirimon gate Altitude 2650m A.S.L, here you will be ready to start your 9 kilometres trek to the first camp Old Moses via tropical rainforest dinner and overnight at Old Moses camp 3,300m. asl


Day 2: Old Moses camp – Shipton’s camp via Mackinder’s valley

After early breakfast, hike to Shipton`s camp through Mackinder`s valley. Lunch served en-route. Elevation attained nine hundred{ 900m} to 4,200m a.s.l. Dinner and overnight in the bunkhouse.

Day 3: Shipton camp – Point Lenana – Nairobi

After a light breakfast at 02:00hrs ascend to our main trekker`s Point Lenana for sunrise at 06:30hrs. A short photo session marking the climax of the hike. Descend to Shipton camp for full breakfast after a half an hour relaxing procced further down via Mackinder valley lunch at Old Moses camp, descend 9km more at the Sirimon park gate, and connect your vehicle to Nairobi or your next destination.

Mountains have their own climate on account of its height. Rain clouds can appear without warning and be gone hours later. An early morning frost is possible at any time of the year and guests should bring a fleece and light rain jacket, although during the heat of the day shorts and T-shirts should suffice.
